Bluetest is a member of the CTIA and COST 2100. The CTIA RCSG (Reverberation Chamber Sub Group) has developed a standardized calibration and test methodology for TRP and TIS measurements in reverberation chambers. Benchmarking between for TRP and TIS of GSM and WCDMA phones have been performed within the CTIA and shows that for SISO, i.e. single antenna terminals, both anechoic and reverberation chambers can meet CTIA’s expected uncertainty limits for TRP and TIS.
In 3GPP, the reverberation chamber technology is proposed as a new MIMO OTA standard by major operators such as NTT Docomo and Orange. NTT Docomo has in 3GPP presented benchmarking results from complex ring-probe solutions and the easy to use reverberation chamber and shown both methods can be used to determine if a terminal has good or bad MIMO antennas.
